«It is something very important, since Mauricio Trejo has given us the opportunity to do this type of events, thanks to him, to all the support he has given to the sport, these events are possible. It is very important, because for any athlete in any discipline it is the training. You are training with Guanajuato, Querétaro, Aguascalientes and you come and train with an international country» said José Cruz González, director of Comude.
For three consecutive days in the «Baby Vázquez» Module, the «Number 1 City in Mexico and the World» became the epicenter of martial arts, hosting a series of fights between the teams of Guanajuato and Tahiti France, which allowed participants and spectators to live a unique sporting experience.
The young man, Fermín Gutiérrez, from San Miguel selected for the camp, recognized this opportunity that allows him to grow in his sports career: «Thanks to the space that they give us here, to train and be better, to have a good path here in taekwondo».
In response, the Olympic coach, Philippe Pinerd, pointed out the importance of having a high quality infrastructure that makes it possible for these events to allow a cultural exchange that improves the development of the athletes: «Beyond the sporting experience, the exchange at a cultural level generates a lot of energy, to move forward, to improve and that is fundamental today. San Miguel has something very strong, at the cultural level, that I wanted to share with my friends from Tahiti».
