A young man died after being shot while riding a motorcycle on the San Miguel de Allende-Guanajuato highway, between the communities of San Rafael and Los López. Initially, it was reported that the young man had skidded, but when the emergency services arrived, it was confirmed that he had bullet wounds.
Civil Protection and Red Cross personnel went to the scene after receiving the report. Later, the Municipal Police arrived to support the work and protect the site of the incident. For several minutes, vehicular traffic was limited to a single lane to allow flow in both directions, while the emergency was attended to.
For several minutes, elements of the Fire Department were working in the area to locate the swarm and remove it
Criminal Investigation Agents (AIC) arrived at the scene to carry out the corresponding procedures. In order to gather the necessary evidence, the authorities closed the road in both directions, forcing several motorists to look for alternate routes, such as the detour to the community of San Rafael. However, some vehicles were stranded.
Unofficially, it was reported that the young man worked as an assistant to his father, who works as a mechanic. According to preliminary versions, the young man had requested to borrow a motorcycle to pick up some parts in San Miguel de Allende. The first investigations suggest that it could have been a case of confusion, although this hypothesis has not yet been confirmed by the authorities.
