In the municipality of Cortazar in Guanajuato, the murder of eight people was reported. These events occurred during the early hours of Sunday, February 23. According to the first reports, the victims are five women and three men. Some reports indicate that there are also two people injured.
It was in the community of Alameda de Vista Hermosa and according to local press reports, it was an armed attack on a home that led to the deaths. Since the violent actions occurred on the borders of Cortazar and Villagrán, elements of the Police of the latter municipality and members of the National Guard pursued the alleged perpetrators.
This happened after neighbors in the area reported the explosions to the authorities. Paramedics also arrived at the site, who confirmed that the eight bodies no longer had signs of life; for their part, the authorities have not reported any arrests for the armed attack and it is also unknown whether the aggressors would be related to any criminal group.

Apparently the people who were killed, who have not been identified, are part of a family and reports such as that of Telediario indicate that the attack was directed against a possible drug dealer. The area was cordoned off by the agents.
