During the morning press conference this Friday, September 12, the federal governor was presented with the case of the transfer of funds to the private organization Concamín by the Government of Guanajuato.

According to the information presented, during the administration of former Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of the United Mexican States Bajío received far more money than the annual budget of state agencies and institutes.

Another case of alleged corruption in Guanajuato involving state resources was brought to the press conference, in which the name of Diego Sihue Rodríguez Vallejo comes to light regarding the transfer of funds to a private organization during his term as governor.

The agreements signed between the State Government and the civil association INDUBAJ, representing Concamín Bajío, show that during the last two years of Sinhue’s governorship, the state allocated 38 million pesos of public funds to the private organization.

Although the funds were provided under the “nonprofit social assistance” scheme, using budget allocation 4450—designated to support nonprofit institutions—space in the building is currently being rented to private companies, which directly violates the conditions stipulated in the signed agreements.

From 2018 to 2024, Concamín Bajío received more than 184 million pesos, exceeding the annual investment of state institutions such as the Office of the Attorney General for the Protection of Children and Adolescents, Women’s Institutes, and the Office of the Human Rights Ombudsman, among others.

The funds provided were used to contract the companies of Concamín’s leader, Ismael Plascencia Núñez, a personal friend of then-governor Diego Sinhue, as well as those of other collaborators of the private organization, thus making a profitable business.

Despite the complaints filed with the State Attorney General’s Office by the media and others by individuals with the Office of the Prosecutor, neither the state government nor Concamín have spoken out or issued a statement.

“So far, the state hasn’t commented, much less the business organization itself. (…) We know this is a local issue, but we would like to hear your opinion, especially because we have been requesting the position of Concamín National, and the response from its national leader, Alejandro Malagón Barragán, has been absolute silence,” the reporter stated.

Sheinbaum promises to review the case of the delivery of resources to Concamín
After asking if the complaint had been filed with any institution and confirming that it had been filed with the Prosecutor’s Office, Claudia Sheinbaum agreed to review the case, although the federal government may not have any involvement in the case.

“We asked the Secretary, perhaps she doesn’t have the authority in this case because it involves state resources, but we asked Raquel to review the case,” the president concluded.
