Designed to improve academic focus, digital safety, and student well-being, these measures introduce significant changes for both public and private schools statewide.
Regulation of Mobile Devices in Classrooms: One of the most notable changes taking effect this cycle is the implementation of new guidelines regarding the use of cell phones and electronic devices in schools. Rather than a total ban, the framework establishes a structured, tiered approach depending on grade level and educational stage. Devices may be utilized strictly for approved pedagogical purposes or in specific emergency situations, while schools are tasked with creating alternative communication channels to ensure parents remain connected with their children during school hours.
Official School Calendar: The state’s basic education cycle officially commences on August 31, 2026, and will conclude on July 8, 2027, comprising 185 effective school days. Public and private institutions incorporated into the state system are required to strictly adhere to these dates.
Support and Welfare Programs: To ease the financial burden on households during the back-to-school season, the state government is continuing its social assistance initiatives, providing hundreds of thousands of student kits—including backpacks and school supplies—alongside expanded scholarship programs to prevent dropout rates across the state’s 46 municipalities.
