Tourist suspected of having covid run over personnel in San Miguel de Allende

Five tourists tried to run over the staff after denying them access to San Miguel de Allende, when they were suspected of Covid-19

José, Claudia, Jordi, Dalia, and Jorge tried to force their way into San Miguel de Allende this Saturday afternoon, they were arrested. Being suspicious of Covid-19 and denying them access to the city, they tried to run over the Civil Protection elements.

The five tourists went through the sanitary filter to check their temperature as one of the mandatory measures of the Municipality, but the temperature of the passengers exceeded 38 degrees. They were suspected of Covid-19 .

For this reason, the staff denied entry to the tourists, who were enraged and reacted aggressively. After insults they tried to run over the Civil Protection personnel, the situation got out of control and caused the municipal police to arrest them. The three men and two women were transferred to the preventive separations and made available to a Civic Judge.

The incident occurred around 6 in the afternoon. And it is that in San Miguel de Allende visitors have to go through a road filter to visit the city. It is one of the measures of the “Health First” campaign, which has been applied since March 13 to prevent the increase in Covid-19 infections.

So far, this city has 346 coronavirus infections and 21 deaths. That is why hotels and restaurants operate with a capacity of less than 50%. The use of a mask is mandatory and the Public Transport trucks are disinfected every day.
