To move, the train, with a capacity to accommodate up to 40,000 people, would use the Ferromex tracks in the municipalities mentioned later. The route would take around 416 kilometers.

Guanajuato.- In February of last year, Secretary of the Foreign Relations Commission, Miguel Torruco Garza, announced that a passenger train could be built soon from Guanajuato to Mexico City. No more roads or planes. This is how the new railway would work:

As soon as this project was announced, several investors raised their hands. Among the companies that asked for an opportunity to create the Tren Bajío was the financial company TM Sourcing.

The idea of the train is to satisfy the needs of several Mexicans, mainly that of tourists, so the Bajio Train stations that will have Mexico City as their destination would be the following:

-Leon

-Silao

-Irapuato

-Salamanca

-Celaya

-Queretaro

-San Juan del Rio, Queretaro

-Tula, Hidalgo

-Huehuetoca, State of Mexico

– Buenavista, Mexico City

-Felipe Angeles Airport

The investment, mostly made by TM Sourcing, would be 50 million pesos.

At the time, when this project was announced in February 2022, Governor Diego Sinhue announced that he did not have much information about it from the federation, however, he agreed.

The Governor declared that Guanajuato is willing to pay the 80 million pesos to carry out the feasibility studies, however, they hope that the Federation will make it a reality.

“If it is for the good for Guanajuato, we will support within the possibilities, our priority is water for the State, really 80 million pesos for a project of this magnitude is not much, for the Federation is even less, if we have something to put we want be viable, if there are more studies like the ones we have already done, it does not make sense, what they propose is to pass on the same train tracks, it is viable because right-of-way is no longer paid, to build, just put the passenger train and make stations, I suppose, I don’t know the project”, expressed
