
Water for Guanajuato will become a reality during the current six-year term with the materialization of the ‘Solís Aqueduct’, one of the 16 strategic projects 2024-2030 of the National Water Plan that President Claudia Sheinbaum presented from the “Mañanera del Pueblo”.
The Solís-León Aqueduct will carry water from the Solís dam, in the municipality of Acámbaro, to five municipalities in the industrial corridor, including the city of León.
Regarding the technical specifications, the aqueduct, with a length of 140 kilometers, will have the capacity to transport 4,000 liters of water per second, benefiting more than 1.2 million inhabitants.
In this context, the National Water Plan has as its main objective to make water a human right and a national asset. This plan is based on four fundamental axes:
