A Public Security Police officer was killed on the morning of July 29 during an armed attack on a patrol car in the Labradores neighborhood, in the municipality of Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato. The officer died at the scene.
Gun violence struck Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato, once again, with the murder of an officer from the Municipal Public Security Directorate. The attack occurred around 7:10 a.m. on July 29, when armed individuals opened fire on a patrol car on Cedro Street, in the Labradores neighborhood.
The officer, assigned to the Public Security Police Department, was inside the vehicle when he was shot by armed civilians. According to initial reports, the officer died instantly due to the impact of the bullets.

The attackers intercepted the patrol car while it was conducting routine surveillance. It has not yet been confirmed whether the officer was traveling alone or accompanied. The official vehicle was hit by multiple gunshots.
Following the attack, Public Security officers deployed an operation in the area and cordoned off the scene, allowing for the intervention of experts from the Guanajuato State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).
Prosecutor’s Office gathers evidence and opens investigation
FGE specialists collected ballistic evidence, including spent shell casings, and began the initial forensic investigations to clarify the events and determine the mechanics of the attack.
To date, no arrests have been made, and authorities are continuing all lines of investigation to identify those responsible for the murder.
