The tranquility of the San Luis Rey neighborhood was shattered last night after residents reported several gunshots on Venustiano Carranza Street.
Around 10 p.m., municipal police units responded to the scene to investigate the report, accompanied by an ambulance from the Mexican Red Cross.
Upon arrival, paramedics entered a butcher shop where they found a man lying inside.
After assessing the situation, they confirmed he had no vital signs, and the scene was immediately secured by municipal officers, who notified the Guanajuato State Attorney General’s Office.
Minutes later, criminal investigation agents arrived to begin collecting evidence inside and outside the establishment.
The investigation included documenting evidence, interviewing potential witnesses, and gathering information to clarify what happened.
The body was taken to the Forensic Medical Service for an autopsy.
The results will be added to the case file opened by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
For several hours, the area remained cordoned off with police tape while specialized personnel continued their technical work.
State Public Security Forces and National Guard personnel were also present at the scene, assisting with perimeter security to prevent any disturbance.
So far, no arrests have been reported in connection with this incident, nor has the victim’s identity been released.
State authorities are keeping the details of the investigation confidential, while residents expressed concern about the violence in the area.
