The opening of the exhibition “I Am a Catholic Cat,” by Potosí artist Bárbara Árab, will take place this Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Casa de Cultura in the San Miguelito neighborhood. Admission is free and open to the public.
Bárbara Árab is a painter, fitness instructor, and currently a psychology student. She began painting at a young age, exploring the use of color and perfecting her technique over time. Part of her artistic career has unfolded in Spain, where she has sold several works, thus solidifying her painting practice.
The artist notes that her creative process is deeply connected to her personal experiences. “My inspiration to paint depends on what I am experiencing at that moment. I signed my first works as Bárbara Árab and later changed my signature to Christian Cat,” Bárbara commented.
This time, she presents her latest work, “I Am a Catholic Cat,” which explores a contemporary vision of sacred art. Don’t miss it and be sure to appreciate it starting this Tuesday.
“Sacred art is my favorite, and in the painting ‘My Eden,’ I want to show my perception of that pivotal moment that condemned us as humanity. Through my work, I seek to share diverse visual experiences that reflect my personality and talents, using oils, watercolors, acrylics, textures, and palette knives,” the artist concluded.
