The tourism, cultural, sporting, and gastronomic agenda in San Miguel de Allende operates as a comprehensive strategy for economic development, promotion, and the intelligent use of existing infrastructure.

During the presentation of upcoming events in the destination, the agenda presented reflects a line of work based on a development vision that understands tourism not only as destination promotion but also as a tool to strengthen the local economy, diversify activity throughout the year, and generate tangible benefits for sectors such as hotels, restaurants, wineries, artisans, and services.

Therefore, San Miguel de Allende has been consolidating a strategy where each event responds to an objective of positioning, generating economic activity, and ensuring the orderly use of the municipality’s infrastructure. The announced agenda includes high-profile events such as the Forever Wedding Summit, Classicíssima, Vendimia Brava, Millesime GNP Weekend, the San Miguel de Allende International Book Fair (FILSMA), San Miguel y sus Sabores, and GEMA—a sequence that not only promotes the destination but also distributes tourist flows and activates low-occupancy weeks with events designed to boost demand.

According to the information presented, San Miguel de Allende received just over 2 million visitors last year, generating an estimated economic impact of 7 billion pesos. During Holy Week and Easter alone, the destination surpassed 350,000 visitors and an economic impact exceeding 1.2 billion pesos.

This is further bolstered by the strength of strategic sectors such as wedding tourism, with more than 900 weddings annually; and sports tourism, reflected in the success of Classicíssima. and the wine sector, bolstered by the region’s recognition as one of the most outstanding in the country and by an increasingly consolidated offering in San Miguel and Guanajuato.
