For the first time, the capital of Guanajuato is the venue for the International Tourism Congress, as part of the World Tourism Day activities.
The 19th edition of the International Tourism Congress is held in the capital of Guanajuato 2021, under the slogan “Tourism, Driver of World Development. ” Around 180 students from Guanajuato, Baja California, CDMX, Guadalajara, and Sinaloa will be training in the tourism industry from September 20 to 26.
Students will also take a tour of the tourist attractions of Guanajuato capital, San Miguel de Allende and Dolores Hidalgo; within the framework of the celebration of “World Tourism Day”, which is commemorated on September 27.
The Secretariat of Tourism (SECTUR) of Guanajuato, through the Coordination of Attention to Specialized Segments, welcomed the attendees and congratulated the different associations for holding this Congress for the first time in the capital of Guanajuato.
“ It is an honor that you have chosen Guanajuato to hold this important Congress; Today, the entity is ranked fifth at the national level in Meetings Tourism and we are pleased that you are part of it, ” said the head of SECTUR.
For his part, Ramón Godínez Ortiz, president of Ampyttac, said that in 2000 this event began with the aim of having constant preparation and sharing ideas in accordance with current events; also highlighted the city as a relevant cultural heritage for the tourism sector.
In addition, as part of the inaugural celebration, the coordinator Vallejo Cortés showed the tourist offer of Guanajuato and highlighted the consolidated promotion strategy in seven segments: Romance, Culture, Nature, Gastronomy, Spirits, Business and Enology, all of them with the objective of strengthening tourist destinations, focus efforts that favor the tourism sector and attract travelers.
E l tourism in Guanajuato is one of the economic activities that can generate better welfare conditions and development creates jobs, distributes favors economic benefit and protection of cultural and natural heritage.
Also present at the inauguration were Javier Pérez Ordaz, president of the Tourism Promotion Council of Guanajuato capital; and Oscar Magaña, from the Guanajuato Hotel and Motel Association, among others.
