San Miguel de Allende and Palm Springs join forces to support education and culture

Mayors of San Miguel de Allende and Palm Springs sign the twinning agreement that will bring educational and cultural exchanges that offer San Miguel residents more and better options to have a stable quality of life, indicated Mayor Mauricio Trejo  

San Miguel de Allende.- The municipal president of San Miguel de Allende, Mauricio Trejo Pureco, and the mayor of Palm Springs, Grace Gardner, made the signing between the 2 cities in order to complete the twinning. 

Mayor Grace Gardner, the first Latina to head the government of Palm Springs, accompanied by a delegation from that North American city, signed with the municipal president of San Miguel de Allende, Mauricio Trejo, the twinning that will bring educational and cultural exchanges, which will offer people from San Miguel have more and better options to have a stable quality of life. 

Regarding the signing, which took place in the Municipal Presidency, Mayor Mauricio Trejo indicated that these treaties strengthen the cultural image of the city. 

     “When you have a municipality that is exemplary in terms of culture, traditions, and cosmopolitan openness, let’s remember that 62 nationalities coexist or converge in San Miguel de Allende; when you have a municipality that has San Miguel residents living in Palm Springs, when we depend so much on tourism and we need allies, logically these twinnings are carried out as a strategy that will serve both cities because, the more culture we can share, the more things we have in common, the greater number of organic promoters, who we call ambassadors, we will be able to be generating and that is promotion for the two cities”. 

One of the purposes of signing this twinning is to strengthen the education sector, by generating a transversality of work between the 2 cities for the exchange of students so that they are enriched with culture and knowledge that helps them in optimal growth in their professional career. and thus, they can transfer it to the labor field in both cities. 

With this twinning, the culture and arts sector will also be strengthened with the exchange of ideas that will boost the quality of activities and services offered by said sector, since both San Miguel de Allende and Palm Springs share these benefits. 

Trejo Pureco stressed that this twinning would provide more comfort and quality of life to residents who chose to live in both San Miguel de Allende and Palm Springs, since they will have the confidence of living in the sister city of their hometown. 

     “To all the people who live and who are from Palm Springs who live in San Miguel de Allende, knowing that the city in which they decided to live is signing a twinning agreement with the city where they are from, makes them feel much more confident, much more confident in the decision they made and vice versa. These twinnings have a lot in the moral, social, and economic aspects, without a doubt, but aside from us who are passing through, we have the great opportunity to generate new friendships that will surely they will last forever.” 

After the signing of the twinning document between San Miguel de Allende and Palm Springs, Mayor Mauricio Trejo commented that the municipality continues to consolidate twinning with cities that allow the development of the city to be promoted and continues to be recognized as a place that is better every day.
