For that reason, the People’s Government, through the Ministry of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), invites the people of Guanajuato, as well as visitors from across the country, to take part in the Guanajuato ¡Sí Sabe! Gastronomic Season, a celebration that brings together the flavors, knowledge, and traditions that distinguish every corner of the state.
Through festivals, fairs, and culinary experiences, this season opens a window into the richness of traditional cuisine, endemic ingredients, Guanajuato wines and spirits, as well as contemporary gastronomic proposals that make Guanajuato a unique destination to enjoy with all the senses.
This Gastronomic Season, which began on May 16 and will continue until August 30, continues to consolidate itself as a platform that promotes Guanajuato’s gastronomic heritage through experiences that celebrate and highlight each region, with festivals dedicated to corn, mango, lamb, ceremonial tortillas, and traditional indigenous cuisine, along with specialized gatherings featuring products such as tequila, mezcal, pulque, craft beer, and wine. The program seeks to bring visitors closer to the gastronomic essence of Guanajuato.
In addition, the Gastronomic Season strengthens the work of traditional cooks, local producers, artisans, entrepreneurs, and tourism service providers, generating productive linkages that directly impact regional economies.
More than just an events calendar, the Gastronomic Season is an invitation to travel through the municipalities, meet those who preserve culinary heritage from generation to generation, and experience activities that strengthen pride in local roots, boost the local economy, and consolidate Guanajuato as a destination where tradition and innovation meet in every dish.
With this strategy, the Ministry of Tourism and Identity reaffirms its commitment to promoting gastronomic heritage as a driver of tourism, cultural, and economic development across municipalities, strengthening pride in the traditions that give flavor and identity to Guanajuato, while also encouraging hotel occupancy, economic activity, and the consumption of local products.
Because in Guanajuato, every dish tells a story, every ingredient preserves a tradition, and every municipality has a flavor to share.
