A trailer-type booth of the Municipal Police ended up with several bullet impacts in an attack that occurred around 9 a.m. this Thursday, near the Bicentennial Bridge in the lower part of the José Manuel Zavala bypass.

Fortunately, there were no injuries or deaths, only material damage and chaos among those present.

Initial reports indicate that the firearm used in the attack was of a large caliber, and witnesses reported hearing around ten shots.

It has not been determined whether the attack was directly against the booth or if it was against another person in the area.

It should be noted that a few meters from the place there is a post with public security cameras, which possibly captured the mechanics of the events.

Apparently, no one was in the police booth at the time of the attack.

The social communication area of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) reported that a person was arrested by municipal police after being discovered picking up spent shells.

The area was cordoned off so that the staff of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Guanajuato could begin the investigations and the safeguarding of evidence.

Although it was neither confirmed nor denied, it was revealed that a message was seized, the content of which is unknown for now.

A gas station worker said that upon hearing the gunshots, the people who were passing by took shelter in the nearby Oxxo, the hotel and the Bodega Aurrera.

It is expected that in the next few hours the authorities will issue more information, although for the moment a search operation is being maintained for those involved in this attack.
