Rooms that during the regular season are around 700 pesos, are now offered between 1,400 and 2,000 pesos per night. In boutique hotels, the increase is even greater: from 1,500 pesos, they rise to more than 3,500 pesos.
High demand, coupled with the shortage of accommodation in the historic center, has caused many visitors to book months in advance. Some choose to stay in León or Silao, where prices are more affordable and availability is better.
For those looking to sightsee without interest in the festival, it is recommended to visit Guanajuato during the week, when it is less crowded, and to book in advance in areas outside the prime area to avoid inflated prices.
