The attack, which left three dead and more than ten injured, occurred in the midst of the patron saint festival in honor of the Virgin of San Juan.
Approximately 300 people demonstrated on the morning of Friday, August 22, in the municipality of San Miguel de Allende to demand greater security in light of the recent violent events that have affected the community.
The peaceful but emotionally charged march passed through the streets of the historic center, considered a World Heritage Site, and was accompanied by signs, banners, and slogans, such as “San Miguel rises in Peace, we need peace.”
The protesters wore black in mourning after the massacre that occurred on August 17, during a patron saint festival, which left three people dead and 19 injured.
