ODATA inaugurated its newest data center, DC QR04, thus consolidating Guanajuato as a strategic epicenter for digital infrastructure in Mexico and Latin America.
Representing the Ministry of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villaseñor Aguilar, the Undersecretary of Investment Attraction, Alejandro Hernández Fonseca, highlighted the company’s leadership in driving innovation, efficiency, and sustainability.
“Today, San Miguel de Allende becomes the epicenter of this group of data centers in Mexico. We are seeing that in the long term, this municipality will become the most important group in Latin America, maintaining its unique personality, authenticity, and charm,” he said.
QR04 was designed for a total IT capacity of 24 MW, with the first phase of 12 MW already operational.
ODATA seeks to position itself as the leading interconnected data center platform in Mexico and Latin America, offering advanced infrastructure to support cloud services, artificial intelligence, and digitalization.
The new DC QR04 integrates cutting-edge technology, including the patented Delta Cube system, developed by Aligned Data Centers, which enables efficient and sustainable cooling.
Thanks to the incorporation of the Free Cooling system, the center takes advantage of external environmental conditions to reduce power consumption, turning off chiller compressors and using air cooling on colder days.
This significantly reduces energy costs and improves the PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) index, an indicator that measures energy efficiency within a data center.
Information technology business in Mexico has registered a 22% growth, strengthening the company’s position to meet the growing demand for advanced solutions in large-scale data storage and restoration in the cloud.
In addition to its commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, this project also represents a boost for Guanajuato as a technology hub, generating 80 highly skilled jobs and contributing to prosperity through diversification and the application of cutting-edge technology.
