A train collided with a passenger truck, killing five people and injuring 18.
The accident occurred at around 9:00 a.m. this Saturday near the community of San Pedro, in the municipality of Comonfort.
According to initial security reports, the passenger truck attempted to overtake a Kansas City Southern Mexico train.
“Preliminary reports confirm the deaths of five people and the injuries of several others. They are being treated and transferred to the Comonfort Community Hospital and the San Miguel Allende General Hospital,” reported the Comonfort Civil Protection Coordination.
On August 6, in the city of Irapuato, the train collided with three vehicles and a motorcycle, leaving six people dead and two injured.
On that date, the Irapuato government’s Security Secretariat reported that the accidents occurred in the Europa and Primero de Mayo neighborhoods.
