For the first time since Halo disappeared, the Ramseys spoke out against Hipsterrier, the exclusive dog hotel where their pet disappeared. The case gained national attention after rumors of the soccer player’s departure to his home country and the involvement of comedian Sofía Niño de Rivera, who allegedly recommended the hotel.
“We have remained silent, trying to understand how you can leave your dog at a ranch and never see her again, with no explanation,” wrote Colleen Ramsey, the soccer player’s wife.
“The cameras weren’t rolling, no tracker found her, no sightings, no body, and a bunch of lies. We just want to say goodbye and move on. How can we move forward if we don’t know if she’s alive or dead?” she continued in the post.
In recent hours, it has emerged that the soccer player has skipped Pumas training and has left for his home country, with little hope of finding his missing dog at the ranch located on the border of Dolores Hidalgo and San Miguel de Allende.
National media reported that comedian Sofía Niño de Rivera had recommended the Hipsterrier dog hotel to the Welshman, and had even been the one who handed in the pet.
Following Halo’s disappearance, the Hipsterrier company garnered attention for its alleged negligence and has not issued any statement on the case; it even closed its Facebook profile in response to questions.
The company, which was originally said to be located in San Miguel de Allende, is actually located in Dolores Hidalgo. Correo questioned authorities in both municipalities about the ranch’s operation and even its location, but received no response.
Hipsterrier promotes itself on its official website as a “human-friendly” dog camp with 50 hectares of land and a pond measuring over 500 square meters where dogs can walk and mingle with other dogs. It also offers transportation for guests from other cities.
The exclusive company keeps its location secret and only confirms the exact location to guests at the time of booking, which must be for a minimum of three nights.
According to unofficial sources, after Halo disappeared, staff at the camp claimed that the dog escaped, “ran away, and left.” Despite having a GPS on her collar, her last recorded location was near the shelter, with no further information about her whereabouts. The reward for her location now amounts to more than 350,000 pesos.
