Official figures presented by the National Migration Institute (INM) reveal that Guanajuato has recorded a total of 21,069 repatriated citizens returning from the United States. This significant volume positions the state in second place nationwide for the reception of returned nationals.
The data covers the period from January 20, 2025, to August 13, 2026, during which Mexico received a nationwide total of 271,193 repatriated individuals. According to the report, the vast majority of these returns are concentrated in states with deep-rooted migratory traditions, highlighting the heavy impact these demographic shifts have on local communities.

Top States of Origin: Chiapas leads the national count with 23,915 repatriated individuals, closely followed by Guanajuato (21,069), Guerrero (20,155), Veracruz (18,003), Oaxaca (17,810), and Michoacán (17,113).
