12 Guanajuato vineyards have notably excelled in the “Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, earning a total of 24 medals in the categories of Grand Gold, Gold, and Silver.
The award-winning wineries include Pájaro Azul, Dos Búhos, Tres Raíces, Viñedo San Miguel, Los Remedios, San José Lavista, Bodegas Cuna de Tierra, La Santísima Trinidad, Casa Anza, Cavas Manchón, Vinícola El Paraíso, and La Santa Vid.
This achievement positions Guanajuato as the second destination with the highest number of distinctions in Mexico, surpassed only by Baja California.
During the “Wine Week” celebrated from June 4th to 9th, Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo expressed his pride: “Guanajuato shone in the world of wine and became a great reference.”
This year, Guanajuato hosted the prestigious international wine tasting competition, blind-evaluating over 15,000 samples by professional tasters.
Juan José Álvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism for the State of Guanajuato, praised local viticulturists for their dedication and passion.
“We are very proud of what we have harvested in the State, in this great Land of Wines. Today, the work we have done, both publicly and privately, is reflected in the recognition of 12 Guanajuato wineries.”
Guanajuato ranked in the Top 5 among medal-winning countries, trailing behind Italy, France, Spain, and Portugal. The awarded Guanajuato wineries are:

Carlos Borboa Suárez, Director for Latin America and North America at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, emphasized that Guanajuato wines are of “exceptional qualitative level” and exhibit a “perfect balance of the senses.” According to Borboa, these wines can compete with labels from any region worldwide, showcasing Mexico’s oenological excellence, specifically in Guanajuato.
The competition revealed that Guanajuato is an emerging state in high-quality wine production, focusing not only on wine tourism but also on terroir quality and winemaking processes.
International judges praised Guanajuato vineyards for their beautiful landscapes and well-established cellars, highlighting the state’s brilliant potential to attract wine tourists from around the world.
With these achievements, Guanajuato continues to establish itself as a “Land of Wines,” capable of competing and excelling on the international wine stage, offering exceptional quality wines and unique wine tourism experiences.
