The new CDMX – Bajío route of the airline Viva Aerobus began operations today, allowing passengers to travel daily from the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) to the Guanajuato International Airport, and to do tourism in the state.
The expansion of Viva Aerobus operations continues. This destination is added to the nine that the Airline already operates from the Guanajuato International Airport, which are Ciudad Juárez, Cancún, Chicago, Houston, Mérida, Monterrey, San Antonio, Tijuana and Dallas.
“This opening represents a great step towards better connectivity for the State of Guanajuato, facilitating access to our cultural, tourist and economic wealth. We will continue working to strengthen our connections and, with it, the development of our region,” celebrated María Guadalupe Robles León, Secretary of Tourism and Identity of the State of Guanajuato.
From January to August 2024, the airline has transported more than 500 thousand passengers to/from Guanajuato International Airport (BJX), this figure represents a growth of 16% compared to the same period in 2023. Viva currently has an average of more than 400 monthly flights in the state.
Upon arrival or departure from Guanajuato, all these passengers enjoy an Airport that has quality certifications that elevate the professionalization and continuous improvement of the agents, responsible for ensuring passenger satisfaction.
Viva also offers quality to users. “We have demonstrated that we have the capacity and modernity to meet the needs of passengers and become one of the main hubs in the center of the country by being the airline with the largest operation in the AIFA,” said General Isidoro Pastor, director of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA).
This new route is, without a doubt, a great effort and important news in terms of connectivity for the Bajío area and the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico, due to the importance of both destinations.
Currently, said Raúl Revuelta Musalem, CEO of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), the Guanajuato International Airport already has a total of 31 routes between national and foreign that are great travel options for passengers.
This inaugurated route is designed to offer passengers more travel options with better rates and in the most modern fleet in Mexico.
“In our 17 years of operations, we have always been committed to providing the best experience and the best service to our more than 170 destinations,” said Walfred Castro Novelo, director of Corporate Communications for Viva Aerobus.
The New Beginning in Guanajuato seeks to strengthen air connectivity, “and I am sure that Viva will be a great ally to achieve the objective. With this synergy, the State will be strengthened as a leading tourist destination in the country,” concluded Secretary Guadalupe Robles.
