‘Nothing Happens’ premieres in San Miguel, a short film that reflects crime in Guanajuato

This weekend, the presentation of the short film titled ‘No pasa nada’ will take place, a material produced in San Miguel de Allende that deals with the issue of crime in the state and the collateral damage it leaves in society.

The film was produced and directed by San Miguel residents and features the participation of local talent. It addresses the issue of crime, specifically with reference to the use of car bombs, and the repercussions that these acts bring to the citizens.

‘No pasa nada’: short film that raises awareness about car bombs in Guanajuato
“I had a career working as a production assistant and I told the director why we didn’t do something here, from San Miguel residents for San Miguel (…) the story is a crime issue that refers to what was happening a few years ago about the car bombs in Celaya and the Apaseos, why? To raise awareness,” shared Emmanuel Ortiz, producer.

The premiere of the short film will take place on Saturday, November 16 at the auditorium of the Cultural Center ‘El Nigromante’ and on Sunday, November 17 at the Casa de la Cultura, both showings at 7 pm in San Miguel de Allende.

“It is not about alluding to crime, but rather raising awareness. The story deals with a collateral issue, that anyone who harms, can harm another or even yourself,” he said.

Emmanuel Ortiz said that the premiere intends to make his work known to the people of San Miguel, prior to entering the material to participate in film festivals, and he announced that they are already working on a project, for which they will seek government support, in which they seek to recognize the heroes of independence who have not been recognized.
