The announcement was made this Tuesday, July 8, as part of the 30th edition of this international survey, whose responses come solely from the magazine’s readers. The methodology considers aspects that build the complete experience of a destination: the hospitality of its people, its gastronomy, its historical sites, its cultural offerings, and the quality of its services.
This is the second time San Miguel de Allende has achieved first place globally, and it is the only city in the world to also receive recognition from Condé Nast Traveler, another renowned publication, consolidating its international tourism leadership.
“At the same time, we have 46 municipalities with different travel reasons, but we recognize San Miguel’s role as an international destination, and we will continue working together to attract more visitors,” the secretary stated after the announcement.
The soul of the city lives on in its historical and cultural attractions, such as the Parish of San Miguel Arcángel, whose neo-Gothic silhouette dominates the skyline, and the Sanctuary of Jesús Nazareno in Atotonilco, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and known as the Sistine Chapel of the Americas.
Its historic center, with more than 250 monuments, preserves the splendor of the Baroque and Neoclassical styles in perfect harmony, captivating visitors.
