News shocked the people of Guanajuato after 700 victims of labor exploitation were rescued from a ranch in the state, in the municipality of Dolores Hidalgo.
The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) found 700 victims of labor exploitation on a ranch in the municipality of Dolores Hidalgo, and has initiated an investigation into the crime of human trafficking.
On the property were men, women, girls, boys, and adolescents originally from the states of Guerrero, Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Veracruz; “many of them in vulnerable conditions.”
The search of the property was the result of a court order.
During the search, a person was located in possession of narcotics, and an investigation was opened against him for crimes against public health.
Prosecutors and Criminal Investigation agents from the FGE (Federal Executive Branch), members of the National Guard, State Public Security Forces, Municipal Police, Civil Protection, the Red Cross, Firefighters, the state and municipal DIF (District Administration of the Federal District), the State Human Rights Ombudsman’s Office, and the State Ombudsman’s Office for the Protection of Children and Adolescents participated in the operation.

The prosecutor’s office reported that the 700 people will receive medical and psychological care and support from various state and municipal institutions.
