The director of the Municipal Sports Commission (COMUDE) of San Miguel de Allende, José Cruz González, known as “El Cuca,” emphasized that the OEM Running Circuit represents an unprecedented sporting event for the city. He also reported that registrations are continuing, with more than 500 people registered to date.

“It’s a very attractive race because it’s the first night race in the downtown area of San Miguel de Allende, and we already have more than 500 athletes registered from all over the state,” the official enthused, noting the strong response to the event.

The OEM Running Race comes to San Miguel as part of the Mexican Editorial Organization (OEM) Running Circuit, a national series that runs through various cities across the country. This time, the San Miguel venue will be track number 17 of the 2025 circuit and will set a precedent by taking place at night, under the magic of the illuminated Historic Center.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, December 6, will feature a 5-kilometer route through the city’s most iconic streets, combining sport, tourism, and socializing. More than 100 local runners are expected to participate, as well as athletes from different parts of Guanajuato and other states.

Registration is still open and can be completed through the official link: Circuito Running.

Registration includes a bank transfer and online registration, with limited capacity.

Participants will receive their sports kit, including a shirt, medal, backpack, chip, and number, which will be delivered on Friday, December 5, at the COMUDE San Miguel de Allende facilities.

The competition includes four categories: Youth (12 to 17 years old), Open (18 to 39), Master (40 to 49), and Master B (50 years old and over), in both men’s and women’s categories.
