Following an assault rifle attack on a bar in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood of Uriangato, Guanajuato, Mayor Juan Carlos Martínez Calderón reported that a woman was injured in the incident and was taken for medical attention.
The mayor stated that at approximately 8:24 p.m. on Sunday, reports of gunshots were received at the establishment.
In a statement, he detailed that Municipal Public Security and Civil Protection officers immediately responded to the scene and denied the report that eight people had died there.
The mayor did not comment on the nature of the incident, damage to the property, or the victim’s condition.
The armed attack was captured on video cameras at the scene, which recorded four men in dark clothing at 8:12 p.m. on August 10, 2025, getting out of a white double-cab pickup truck carrying long weapons.
From outside, the commando unit is seen firing bursts of gunfire at the establishment, located on Campesinos Street, and after carrying out the attack, they leave the premises in the same vehicle.
At the time of the shooting, a man approaches the premises on a bicycle and, faced with the shots, returns to the sidewalk. At the same time, a motorcyclist crosses the street and a small white dog runs out of the building.
